Ward 30 is a 30 bed ward caring for patients undergoing elective joint replacement and spinal surgery and trauma via A&E. We work closely with a dedicated admissions nurse to ensure a smooth running pathway for all elective patients. The ward is balanced between both trauma and elective procedures giving a well rounded orthopedic nursing experience.

We are looking for dynamic, hard-working and enthusiastic Band 5 registered nurse to join our supportive team. You will be committed to providing excellent patient experience and demonstrate good communication skills both with patients and other members of the MDT. You will be organised and able to manage your workload efficiently to ensure timely admission and discharge, maintaining a smooth patient pathway.

As a valued member of our team you will be supported by regular appraisal and a personal development plan, with extensive training opportunities. In return you will provide support and guidance to junior members of staff, working closely with the junior sister and senior sister to ensure that our patients are receiving the highest possible standard of care.

Informal enquiries are welcomed.

You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Induction Programme for RNs, RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the programme lead if this is problematic: nicola.henthorn@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
