Applications are invited for one Hybrid Consultant in Paediatrics on a 6-12 month fixed term contract.

This is a new post to the Department of Paediatrics of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, which provides a clinical service at both the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury and Maidstone Hospital. The new consultant will have responsibilities for participating in and developing a Trust-wide service. This post will be primarily in general and neonatal paediatrics. With mutual understanding with existing consultants there might be opportunities to share Paediatric Consultant of the week and Neonatal Consultant of the week rota.

The post holder will be based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital but will have clinical sessions at both sites. Specialist interests are welcomed. The post is full time (10PA) but part time will be considered. The consultant will work a 1:5 on the Registrar on-call rota; with 7 nights in 10 weeks and 1-2 weekends. There will be the opportunity to do COW Week.

The Tunbridge Wells Hospital is a superb single roomed hospital located in Pembury adjacent to the A21. It welcomed its first patients in January 2011. Maidstone Hospital is also a modern hospital situated at the western edge of Maidstone, two miles from junction 5 of the M20. Both areas can access central London easily as well as Europe via the Eurotunnel, and enjoy the Kent countryside. Gatwick airport is also within an hour’s drive. Kent is known for good grammar schools.
