We are looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our busy department.

Are you dynamic and enthusiastic? Then apply for this post!

You will work predominantly in the Obstetric theatre but will also have opportunities to develop in every service offered out of Tunbridge Wells theatres.

The unit consists of eleven theatres specialising in ENT, Gynaecology, Ortho, Paediatric, Ophthalmic, Trauma and 24hr emergency CEPOD cover. Two Theatres are dedicated to Obstetrics, providing both elective and emergency cover.

You need to have a commitment to develop others and to support the theatre department’s management structure and multidisciplinary team. This post will enable the successful applicant the opportunity to further develop their leadership expertise in what can be a demanding area. We need someone flexible with a good attitude that can act as a role model to others and work well under pressure. We would like to develop your clinical and leadership skills to achieve the highest standards of patient care within theatre.

To attract staff of the highest calibre, we offer excellent working conditions and facilities, promoting flexible working and a healthy home/work life balance.

We are committed to professional development and have excellent training and education facilities in a safe and respectful environment.

We have a staff member dedicated in the role of promoting staff practice development.

Together, we work hard to maintain a safe, comfortable, patient-focused environment for the people in our care.

You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Induction Programme for RNs, RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment).  The programme is full-time (please contact the programme lead if this is problematic: nicola.henthorn@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
