Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Physician with a special interest in Gastroenterology to be based at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. The successful applicant will hold a CCT in Gastroenterology and GIM or be within 6 months of obtaining this at the time of interview.

This is a replacement post and the holder will help develop a first class luminal gastroenterology service alongside 7 other colleagues, with a contribution to general medicine as part of a rota shared between 14 colleagues on the TWH site.  A subspecialist in inflammatory bowel disease would be preferable.

The Gastroenterology department is a busy integrated unit with 6 endoscopy rooms and two dedicated Gastroenterology/General Medicine wards across two Hospital sites. All the endoscopy facilities have JAG accreditation for Training and provide Bowel Screening for its local population.  The Trust has a 7-day endoscopy service and is looking to develop a 24/7 gastrointestinal bleeding service.

The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust values equality and diversity and welcomes applicants from all sections of the community. We also promote flexible working to help staff achieve a healthy work-life balance.
