Come and join our Oncology Pharmacy Team and help us to make the difference to cancer patients. 

We are an expanding team which benefit from a high profile within the Cancer Centre and Kent & Medway Cancer Network. In order to meet the demands and challenges of an ever-expanding service, we require forward thinking, talented individuals who are keen to contribute to the delivery of high quality patient focused chemotherapy services.

We have completed the implementation of a new electronic chemotherapy prescribing system and we are also in the process of finalising the implementation of a new software system for the production of worksheets.

Due to the reconfiguration of the service, the opportunity has arisen for a dispensing assistant  to gain experience across our sites. The position is currently based at the Maidstone site, but there will be the opportunity to work across the Tunbridge Wells site, once we re-open our facilities.

We are looking for dedicated and committed individual to work as part of our valued multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to assist pharmacists and technicians in different aspects of the pharmacy service helping to ensure the highest quality of pharmaceutical care is given to our patients.

The key features of the post include providing customer care at the pharmacy hatch, dispensing for outpatients prescriptions, visiting wards and departments to deliver chemotherapy treatments.

You will be expected to put the patient first and deliver the best possible service. You should have good communication & interpersonal skills; be motivated, flexible to service needs, adaptable and able to work well in an environment of change and transition. You will be expected to develop good working relationships with other staff within the pharmacy and the hospital.

You will be required to have or to train to NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services through our in-house training programme. You will need to have a good standard of education and GCSEs at grade C or above in Maths and English.

Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)
