We are looking to employ band 6 radiotherapist to lead a team of radiotherapists on the treatment units and who can maximise resources and maintain a high quality service for the patients. Previous NHS experience within image evaluation and knowledge of IGRT techniques would be an advantage.

 

The post holder, who is recognised as a clinical expert in this field of practice, will also be able to advise on radiotherapy techniques and oncological clinical radiotherapy issues.

 

All posts will be linked to a professional development package which will assist the advert for post holder to progress through a career pathway.

 

Kent Oncology Centre currently comprises:

 

  • Multi disciplinary team working
  • Radiographer led Services
  • Brachytherapy
  • Pre-treatment service with CT/sim/3D planning with virtual simulation

·         Macmillan site specialists.

  • 9 Linear Accelerators, three based at Kent and Canterbury with 4 being Rapid Arc units.
  • It is anticipated that a full replacement programme will commence in 2014 on the Canterbury site.

 

The Kent Oncology Centre comprises of two departments one at Maidstone set in the heart of the Kent countryside and the other Canterbury, a university town, both offering easy access to London and the Channel tunnel.
