The busy Orthoptic and Optometry department at Maidstone Hospital are looking for someone to job share with the Deputy Clerical Team Leader on a Monday, Wednesday 8.30am to 4.45pm in our clerical team.

You must be friendly, enthusiastic and motivated with a positive attitude. Previous supervisory experience to assist and deputise for the Clerical Team Leader in the smooth running of the service and managing the personnel is essential.

The Orthoptic and Optometry clerical team are multi skilled combining health records and clinical administration unit roles. The team manage the Orthoptic and Optometry waiting lists for Maidstone, Medway and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals, locate and prepare patient documents for clinics, book patients in and out of the clinics, make appointments for new and follow up patients and deal with enquiries from patients and health professionals face to face and on the telephone. You must therefore be efficient and organised with excellent communication skills, be calm under pressure, able to deal with frequent interruptions and be flexible to the needs of the Orthoptic service.
